Philippine Quality Coffee Bean Supplier: BACOFA

Balutakay Coffee Farmers Association (BACOFA) is a group of smallholder coffee farmers in Sitio Pluto, Balutakay, Bansalan, Davao del Sur, Philippines. Planting up to a height of 1,700 meters above sea level.

Balutakay, Bansalan, Davao del Sur, Philippines is home to coffee farmers who have banded together to uplift their farming livelihood and find better opportunities as a group, forming the ‘Balutakay Coffee Farmers Association’ or ‘BACOFA’.

BACOFA was founded in May 2013, starting with only 20 member-farmers with smallholder lands situated in the picturesque Mount Balutakay, its ranges dotted with vegetable and flower farms, and at its highest elevation of 1,700 meters above sea levels, coffee trees enjoy the misty, cool temperatures of the mountain.

Now with 68 members and growing, BACOFA is continuously striving towards quality coffee production, with focus on specialty Arabica green beans. Its members are partners with international and national government / non-governmental agencies that bridge them to train from the Coffee Quality Institute, and link them to the Philippine Coffee Board, Inc. to help them make their mark not just in the country, but to take their coffee to the global marketplace.

Last October 2017 we visited the farm and we are glad that we are getting some of our quality coffee beans from their produce.
